Galvanic Corrosion Between Carbon Fiber Reinforced Plastic and Anodized Aluminum with Different Film Thickness

نویسندگان

چکیده

We investigated film thickness effects of sulfuric acid anodized aluminum when galvanically coupled with carbon fiber reinforced plastic(CFRP). The CFRP was electrically to alloys 1050, 5052, 6061, and 7075 in 3.5 wt.% NaCl solution at 35 ℃. Galvanic current passing from the 1050 6061 decreased as anodic oxide thickened. For galvanic between 5052 CFRP, elapsed time until corrosion density value increased tended increase passed irrespective thickness.

Dynamic Characteristics of Joined Steel and Carbon Fiber-Reinforced Plastic Tubes: Experimental and Numerical Investigation

The fundamental frequencies and mode shapes of steel and carbon fiber–reinforced plastic (CFRP) cylindrical shells with steel inserts were investigated using finite element analysis and modal testing. The free-free boundary condition was tested with modal testing using the roving hammer method and verified by finite element analysis using ABAQUS. The results show good agreement between the test...

Corrosion of Thin Film Magnetic Disk: Galvanic Effects of the Carbon Overcoat

Thin film magnetic disks are usually coated with a layer of carbon or silica to improve wear properties, enhance flyability, and reduce environmental degradation of the underlying metal layers. In this paper we investigated the effect of dc and RF sputter deposited carbon overcoats on the corrosion behavior of the magnetic layers using electrochemical techniques and a corrosive gas chamber. Cor...

Bond Development Between Carbon Fiber Reinforced Polymers and Concrete

Carbon fiber reinforced polymer (CFRP) sheets can be externally bonded for retrofit of concrete structures, improving flexure and sheer strength in the concrete. The key to CFRP sheets is the bond to the concrete, as bond is the means to transfer stress between the tow sheet and the concrete. Experimentation has been conducted to test a current market fiber-resin system, and to develop a resin ...
